Alright, gas prices will be on the raise again as the sunny season rolls in. Another reminder of how much we are getting robbed, or that maybe, just maybe the oil resources are coming to a end. It is also known as the peak oil. It means we are not capable of increasing our oil mining as fast as our needs increases. And with china in economic growth, it only bought to get worst. Electricity is the easiest energy to convert and when our cars run on that, we will finally have an option to the monopoly of oil companies.
We will come to a dead end sooner or later, but enough with the apocalyptic prophecy. There are pretty of alternative to the old source of energy. And in them might be a promise of a healthier planet as well. Some might think running our cars on electricity will only pollute more by putting strain on the grid but below is a few reasons why I do not think so.

Windmills have been there since before the middle age, but technologies have pushed the limits farther. Did you know wind generators have 160gigawatts capacities? Wind power has been in exponential expansion since 1997. To this day, it generates 2% of the world's energy needs.

Another new method of making electricity is tidal. Simply put, the device moves up and down with the waves , and this energy is then harnessed to run a generator.
Sadly, the waves will still make you feel queasy but it will also generate electricity!

Thin-film solar cells are getting the rave these days. While not yet as efficient as current cells, they have other advantages. They require less expensive equipments to build. Instead of the expensive traditional vacuum process, these cells are pretty much PRINTED. It makes them much faster to build and less costly, two factor to broaden their potential market.

It's easy to understand the impact they can have when the projected price per watts falls under 50c a watt, down from 1-1.2$ a watt with current method.

Thankfully, we can rely on our engineers to always come up with electricity power plants ideas. They already produce electricity and the oil alternative is getting too expensive. Some people are already embracing the new technologies.

Australia passed laws for solar panels, and most states offer rebates. Do-it-yourself people are even making their own panels at a fraction of the cost. If you are still in doubt or are just curious, you might want to check this tutorial to making a panel a friend sent me. www.squidoo.com/solarpanelscheap
